MARK ENGELMAN

Present Position:  President and Training Officer

Mark Engelman is a Photographer and AV Consultant/Technician, husband and father. He joined the Stony Point Ambulance Corps in 1984 and received his Emergency Medical Technician certification shortly after.

After 26-plus years he still rides as an EMT and rides the ambulance frequently. Mark has been involved in EMS education and taught CPR, First Aid, Certified First Responder, and EMT courses. He previously served as Corps Captain and is currently the corps’ President and Training Officer.

CHELLE CORDERO-ENGELMAN

Present Position:  Vice President, New Building Chairperson and Grants

Chelle Cordero-Engelman joined the Stony Point Ambulance Corps in 1987.  Chelle was subsequently certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); she remains a certified EMT to this day.  In 1996, Chelle was elected to the Board of Directors.  Chelle served as Board Secretary and member of the Executive Board from 1996 until 2010.  In 2010, Chelle was elected President of the Board of Directors and in 2011 and 2012 was elected as the Board Vice President.

Chelle remains active as an EMT and riding member of the Association, actively participates in the Auxiliary and is a Youth Squad Advisor.  Chelle is a Life Member in the Corps.  A Bachelor of Arts graduate of Fordham University at Lincoln Center, today Chelle is a published author and a full time freelance writer.

CHERYL HUBERT

Present Position:  Executive Secretary and LOSAP Chair

Cheryl Hubert joined the Stony Point Ambulance Corps as a driver in August 1984.  She has remained an active member of the Corps since joining.  In 2006, she joined the Board of Directors and currently chairs several committees.  Cheryl is also an advisor for the youth squad of the ambulance corps.  Cheryl has her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and has taught at Children of Mary N-K for over 25 years.  Cheryl and her husband are both members of scouting.  Her husband Pete and son Peter are active members of the fire department.

LAURA BARBELLA

Present Position:  Treasurer

Laura joined the Stony Point Ambulance Corps in June 2009 and was elected to its Board of Directors in October 2010.  She is currently serving as the Treasurer.  Laura is a graduate of Rockland Community College and has been a resident of Stony Point for 11 years.  She is married and the mother of two children.  She is active within the North Rockland School District in various sports and educational committees to benefit the youth of the area.  She is employed by Rockland Mobile Care and Haverstraw Ambulance as an EMT.  Her background includes working with special education children in an education environment, recruiting and working in the emergency medical field.

MARC ENGELMAN

Present Position:  Captain, By-Laws Chairperson and Ethics co-chair

Marc grew up in Stony Point and graduated North Rockland High School where he was a member of the NJROTC and appointed to the position of Executive Officer in his Senior year. He studied computer engineering at Polytechnic University and RCC; he was Omega Phi Alpha Fraternity, Parliamentarian 2003-2004. Marc was a 2008 Rockland County 40-under-40 Honoree.

Marc joined the Stony Point Ambulance Corps Youth Squad at 14 in 1998 and became a NYS Certified First Responder. He joined the senior corps when he turned 18 and took an Emergency Medical Technician course. Rockland County EMS and the Stony Point Ambulance Corps recognized Marc as EMT of the year in 2006.

Marc was elected to the position of 1st Lt in 2008 and elected as Captain in 2010 and again in 2012. He has been employed by Rockland Mobile Care since 2005 as an Emergency Medical Technician.

JOHN AMOROSO

Present Position: Fundraising Chair and Ethics co-chair

 Joining the Association in 2011, his diverse background and experience recently led to his appointment to the Board of Directors. In addition to being an active riding member, John is currently an Area Supervisor for a lifestyle management company and has primary accountability for the daily operations for a number of real estate properties throughout the state.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and is currently attending Manhattanville College as a pre-med student. Throughout John’s academic career, he has been actively involved in the community. He has served as fundraising chair for the American Cancer Society, victims’ advocate for the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center and intake assistant for the Public Defender’s Office.

John graduated North Rockland High School in 2003 and is currently living in Stony Point.

KATHY LeROY

Present Position:  Insurance Chair

Kathy LeRoy, a graduate of Rockland Community College and bookkeeping major, currently serves on the Insurance Committee.  Kathy previously chaired the Fundraising Committee and is responsible for raising over $15,000 in each of the last two campaigns (2009 and 2010).  Kathy owns and operates a successful local business, Kathy’s Cleaning Service, which she established in 1988 and is presently operating in the Stony Point area.  Prior to that, Kathy worked as an Assistant Coordinator of Adult Education at Letchworth Village for 9 years.  Kathy holds various certifications from a NYS Medication Recertification Course, NYS Supervisory Course, and a Certificate of Achievement in Emergency Techniques.  She is a member of various other civic organizations, such as Historical Society of the Palisades Interstate Park Region and the Italian American Club, where she has served in many capacities which includes Recording Secretary and active membership chairs.  She enjoys spending time in promoting those volunteer organizations

JOHN V. ORFINI

Present Position:  Chaplain and Publicity Chair

A member of the Board of Directors since 2009, and currently serving as Publicity Chair, John Orfini also serves on several other committees, such as NewBuilding, Recognition, Membership and Retention.

Orfini has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and a Master of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Seton Hall University.  He also has a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from The College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ.  A former Assistant Professor of English at Seton Hall University and Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ, Orfini is currently a District Library Media Specialist for the Cresskill (NJ) Public School System, a position he has held since 1990.  He holds state certifications as Principal, Supervisor, School Business Administrator, Nursery/Elementary Teacher, Educational Media Specialist, and Teacher of English.

Orfini was a member of the Board of Trustees for the Cresskill Public Library and the Joint Free Public Library of Morristown and Morris Township (NJ).  He has numerous years of coaching little league baseball in Morristown, NJ, and many years coaching soccer for Morris United Soccer Club, also in Morristown, NJ.  Orfini is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the North Rockland Soccer Association.

A married father of four, he is actively involved as a coach with Stony Point Just For Fun Baseball, North Rockland Soccer Association, and St. Gregory Barbarigo CYO Recreation Basketball.

LINDA M. SCHUTZENDUBEL-PERRY, CVA

Present Position:  Recognition Chair

 Linda M. Perry, a Certified Professional in Human Resources, holds certification as a PHR from the Human Resources Institute (HRCI) and a CVS (Certified Volunteer Administor) certification.    She is currently employed as a Director of Human Resources.  Linda has over 20 years of progressive experience in the Human Resources field.  Ms. Perry is a graduate of the Berkeley College in White Plains.

Linda has been a volunteer with the Stony Point Ambulance Corps for more than 10 years and has held various positions in the Corps.  She  served as the Association Secretary and Auxiliary Vice President. In 2011 Kinda was elected to the positions of Auxiliary Chairperson.  Currently, Linda is a member of the Board of Directors, where she chairs the Recognition Committee.

In addition to volunteering, Linda has run a successful Avon business for over 28 years and in that capacity, manages more than 100 successful Avon Representatives in her downline.  She is a proud Army mom to two grown sons who are proudly serving their country.  Both are actively involved in various civic and volunteer organizations.

JOE SEGELBACHER

Present Position: Housing Criteria Chairperson

Joe Segelbacher returns to the Board of Directors after a brief hiatus. During his previous board tenure he served as President and Vice-President.

He joined the corps as a teenager in the Cadet Squad and was an active riding member until 2002.  He earned Life Membership for his many years of service.

Joe had worked as an Investigator for the Rockland Medical Examiner’s office for many years. Joe lives in Stony Point with his wife, Lisa, and their “younger” children.

GERI THOMPSON

Present Position:  Historian and Membership/Recruitment Chair

 Geri Thompson has lived in Stony Point for 40 years and is the mother to three grown children and the proud Grandmother of 7 grandchildren. Geri has always maintained her community service during the last 40 years and has been instrumental in the success of these organizations.  She has been an active member of Wayne Hose Fire Company where she was the Corresponding Secretary for many years.  Geri has been a member of the Stony Point Ambulance Corps for more than 40 years.  During her tenure, she is currently a member of the Board of Directors but has also served on the Auxiliary and has ridden as an EMT.  She spent 4 years as a Parish Council and 18 years as a Eucharistic Minister.  She spent 2 years as a Den Leader for a Stony Point Boy Scout Troop and 8 years as a Brownie and Girl Scout Transportation Mom.  Geri was on the original Immaculate Conception Bingo Team and spent 10 years on the Board of Directors for the Rockland County Kennel Club where she is was a member for 20 years.  She has worked as a Park Ranger/First Aid (EMT) for the Parks Commission, as a Medical Phlebotomist for Rockland Medilabs and Dr. Barry Lekschitz.  Additionally, she worked in the Engineering Department at AT&T.
