The summer has certainly flown by, just 2 more weeks and the kids are back in school – unbelievable.
Our Corps Family Picnic on August 16 (held in the “Bay Pavilion” thanks to the weather) was a really fun day with great company, lots of laughter, good food and plenty of desserts. This annual tradition is always a highlight of the summer months.
The Youth Squad will be returning to a regular mandatory meeting schedule mid-September although many of our members showed up during the summer weeks as well. If you know of a teenager 14-years old and up, let them know about the Stony Point Ambulance Youth Squad. Members meet every Tuesday night (based on the school calendar) from 7:30-9:30pm. They receive professional level training in CPR, First Aid and problem solving; with the appropriate training they can respond to medical emergencies as part of our ambulance crews by the age of 15. Just show up at the building on a Tuesday night – call (845) 786-5990 for more info.
And we are planning our annual Halloween Haunted House event on October 30 and 31 at our current ambulance building at 6 Lee Avenue (north of Main St) behind the Rose Memorial Library. Mark it on your calendars now, it’s always a blast!
Finally, congratulations to Jim and Jamie Rawcliffe on the birth of a son on July 15.
Our ambulance corps is always looking for good neighbors to join – we have our riding association (we supply training), our auxiliary (non riding support personnel), our board and our youth squad. Stop by the building for more info (call 786-5990 to make sure someone is there), or contact us via email at SPAC646@yahoo.com. You can download a member application HERE
